We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.

By using our website, subscribing to our updates, or purchasing our products, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information we collect

We keep the information we collect to a minimum. There are two situations in which we collect personal information from you:

When you sign up to receive updates. If you ask to receive news, product updates, or marketing emails from us, we collect your name and email address so we can send you those messages.

Communicating with you

We use your personal information to provide you with customer support and improve our Services. This is in our legitimate interests in order to be responsive to you, to provide effective services to you, and to maintain our business relationship with you.

When you make a purchase. When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and the details needed to complete your order. Payment is handled by our payment processor, and we do not store full credit card numbers ourselves.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and how you interact with the site. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies, described in the "Cookies" section.

Security and Fraud Prevention

We use your personal information to detect, investigate or take action regarding possible fraudulent, illegal or malicious activity. If you choose to use the Services and register an account, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. We highly recommend that you do not share your username, password, or other access details with anyone else. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

We do not currently operate an app, and we do not collect, upload, or store photographs of your skin or any other images of you.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Process and fulfill your orders, including shipping and returns
  • Communicate with you about your order or support requests
  • Send you updates and marketing emails, where you have asked to receive them, and allow you to unsubscribe at any time
  • Detect and prevent fraud and protect the security of our site
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

We rely on your consent, the need to perform our contract with you, and our legitimate business interests as the basis for these uses, consistent with Canadian privacy law.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent they need it to perform their work. These include:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes orders
  • Payment processors, which handle your payment securely
  • Shipping and fulfillment partners, who receive your name and address to deliver your order
  • Email and marketing tools, which we use to send order updates and, where you have opted in, promotional messages
  • Analytics providers, which help us understand how our site is used

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to legal process, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business. In every case we require our service providers to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

International transfers

We are based in Canada, and some of our service providers may store or process your information in the United States or other countries. When your information is handled outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of those countries, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and authorities there. We take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected wherever it is processed.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, understand site usage, and support marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

Data retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfill orders, send the updates you requested, meet legal and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to remove you from our update list at any time.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
